Engine Front Cover

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the crankshaft pulley and front oil seal.





4. Remove the components in the order indicated. Illustration 1 of 3.





5. Remove the components in the order indicated. Illustration 2 of 3.

6. Remove the components in the order indicated. Illustration 3 of 3.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
8. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
9. Connect the battery ground cable.

1. Remove the heater control valve bracket bolt.

1. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.

Apply silicone gasket and sealant to the oil pan and the engine block mating surfaces.





2. Apply silicone gasket and sealant to the front cover in two places.
