Test G

Pinpoint Test G: DTC C1277/C1278 Steering Wheel Angle 1 and 2 Circuit Failure/Faulted

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

Normal Operation
The steering position sensor monitors the steering wheel position when the toothed-wheel on the steering shaft passes through its magnetic field.

Steering wheel rotation (in degrees) is sent to the ABS module through circuit 1572 (DG) and circuit 1573 (YE). Voltage is supplied by the ABS module through circuit 1576 (TN/BK) which is spliced to circuit 1003 (GY/YE). Ground is provided by the ABS module through circuit 1577 (BK).
