Test L

Pinpoint Test L: DTC C1730-Reference Voltage Out Of Range (+5 V)

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

Normal Operation
The 5 volt reference voltage is supplied by the Anti-Lock Brake Module (ABS) to the primary brake pressure transducer and the brake pedal travel sensor.

Reference voltage is supplied to the primary brake pressure transducer through circuit 3601 (WH/RD), and to the brake pedal travel sensor through circuit 3010 (TN). The reference voltage circuits return to the ABS module through circuit 3603 (RD) for the primary brake pressure transducer, and through circuit 3011 (BK/OG) for the brake pedal travel sensor.

Possible Causes
- circuit 3601 (WH/RD) short to power or ground
- circuit 3010 (TN) short to power or ground
- ABS module
- master cylinder
- primary brake pressure transducer
- brake pedal travel sensor
