Normal Operation
The transmission fluid temperature monitors the temperature of the fluid in the transmission pan.

NOTE: Refer to the Transmission Vehicle Harness Connector illustration.

Possible Causes
If the transmission fluid temperature sensor fails it may cause the TCIL light to flash, some possible causes could be:
- Short to ground
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Open circuit
- Faulty temperature sensor
- Sensor out of range
- Sensor never changes
- Faulty PCM
