Special Tool(s)
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
2. Remove the front axle halfshafts.
3. Remove the front driveshaft.
4. Position a suitable hydraulic jack under the front axle. Securely swap the jack to the axle.
5. Remove the components in the order indicated in the illustration and table.








6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
7. Refill the axle with the specified quantity of the specified lubricant.

Item 5 and 8: Front Axle Assembly Isolation Bushing Removal Note





1. Place the special tool on the bushing and index-mark the housing in line with the arrow on the special tool.





2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the bushing flange and the axle housing. Record the measurement.





3. Tap the special tool on between the axle housing and the bushing flange.





4. Assemble the remaining remover tools. Remove and discard the isolator bushing.

1. Set the new bushing in the housing bore and install the special tools. Align the arrow marks on the special tool with the index mark on the axle housing.





2. Draw the bushing into the housing to the gap measured earlier in this procedure.
