Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: 2.3L engine shown, 2.0L engines similar.

All vehicles
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
^ Loosen the outlet pipe retaining clamps.
^ Release the emission breather tube from the outlet pipe.
^ Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

Vehicles with 2.3L engine







3. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness electrical connector.

All vehicles







4. Remove the Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
1 Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector.
2 Remove the TP sensor retaining screws.
3 Remove the TP sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
