Gearshift Cables

Removal
1. Remove the gearshift mechanism.
2. Raise the vehicle.





3. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe and remove it from the rubber insulators.





4. Loosen the heat shield and push it backwards.
^ Unclip the shift and selector cables from the floor pan.





5. Open the shift and selector cable cover.





6. Remove the shift and selector cable.
^ Remove the shift and selector cable end fittings from the shift and selector lever.
^ Remove the shift and selector cable from the bracket by turning the lower part of abutment clockwise and the upper part counter clockwise.
7. Lower the vehicle.





8. Remove the healer air passage.





9. Open up the carpet and damping matting and fold it to one side (heater heat exchanger not shown).





10. Remove the shift and selector cable bushing from the floor pan and pull the cables through to the vehicle interior (heater heat exchanger not shown).

Installation





1. Install the components in reverse order.





2. Adjust the shift and selector cables.
