Liftgate Window Glass: Service and Repair

LIFTGATE WINDOW GLASS

REMOVAL
1. If installing a new liftgate window glass, remove the rear wiper motor.












2. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the illustration and table.

Item 1: Liftgate Trim Panel Removal Note
1. Position the liftgate trim panel aside to access the electrical connection and the liftgate window glass nuts.

Item 3: Liftgate Window Glass Struts Removal Note

1. CAUTION: Open and support the liftgate glass before removing the liftgate window glass struts.

To avoid breaking the liftgate window glass, disconnect the liftgate window glass struts from the liftgate glass before disconnecting the strut from the liftgate.

2. If only removing the hinges, carefully close the liftgate window glass, and make sure the striker is engaged in the latch.

Item 5: Liftgate Window Glass Removal Note

1. CAUTION: Be sure not to scratch the applique located at the bottom of the glass.

With the help of an assistant, remove the liftgate window glass.

Item 6: Liftgate Window Glass Hinge-to-Glass Nut Removal Note
1. If only removing the hinges, install one hinge at a time.

INSTALLATION

1. NOTE: Transfer components as necessary.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 6: Liftgate Window Glass Hinge-to-Glass Nut Installation Note
1. When installing the liftgate window glass hinge-to-glass nuts, apply Threadlock 262 into the hinge-to-glass bolt hole, making sure that the threadlock is on the threads.
