INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION1. Verify the customer concern.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. Verify the speedometer operates correctly by driving the vehicle. If the speedometer does not operate correctly, refer to instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
5. Verify the stoplamps operate correctly by applying the brake pedal. If the stoplamps do not operate correctly, refer to Lighting and Horns.
6. Verify the horn operates correctly by pressing the horn switch. If the horn does not operate correctly, refer to Horn.
7. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart. Diagnosis By Symptom
