Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER PURGE VALVE

REMOVAL

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

1. Partially drain the cooling system.







2. Disconnect the heater water hose.







3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector, return tube, and outlet tube from the EVAP canister purge valve.







4. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.
- Remove the two nuts.
- Remove the purge valve.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
