Windshield Reseal
WINDSHIELD RESEAL1. Remove the cowl panel grille.
2. Remove the 2 A-pillar trim panels.
3. Remove the interior rear view mirror.
4. Remove the sun visors.
5. Partially lower the front portion of the headliner near the windshield upper opening and block the headliner with a suitable material.
6. Clean the edge formed by the existing urethane and the glass on the inside of the windshield at the top and sides, and outside on the bottom of the windshield with an alcohol free cleaner.
7. Cut the urethane applicator tip to specification.
8. NOTE: Use either a high-ratio electric or battery-operated caulk gun that applies the urethane with less effort and a continuous bead.
Apply a bead of urethane adhesive to the cleaned area.
9. NOTE: Make sure all gaps in the urethane adhesive are smoothed into one continuous bead.
Backfill the urethane application and clean the excess.
10. CAUTION: The urethane adhesive must cure for a minimum of 1 hour before testing for air or water leaks.
After the urethane has cured, check the windshield seal for air or water leaks through the urethane adhesive bead and add urethane adhesive as necessary.
11. Install the sun visors.
12. Install the interior rear view mirror.
13. Install the A-pillar trim panels.
14. Install the cowl panel grille.
