Steering Gear to Fluid Cooler Return Hose

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.

1. Compress the clamp and disconnect the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose from the power steering fluid cooler.
2. Disconnect the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose fitting from the steering gear and remove the hose.
^ Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
^ To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





3. NOTE: When connecting a fitting with an

O-ring seal, a new seal must be installed.
^ To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Using the special tool, install an O-ring seal over the fitting.
4. Fill and leak check the system.
