PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

NOTE: Upon installation of a new smart junction box (SJB), the module must be reconfigured. Refer to Information Bus (Module Communications Network) prior to SJB removal.

The SJB receives inputs and delivers outputs to a majority of the electronically-controlled features of the vehicle. The SJB constantly monitors the systems under its control and reports a concern in the form of a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The DTC can be retrieved with a diagnostic tool through the medium speed controller area network (CAN) communication network.
