EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE

Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum hose.
2. Remove the EGR valve tube fitting.
- To install, tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb-ft).







3. NOTE: When installing the new EGR valve gasket, install with the side with the raised circle facing the intake manifold.

Remove the EGR valve bolts, the EGR valve and the gasket.
- Discard the gasket.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

4. NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Carefully clean the EGR valve sealing surfaces.
- Install a new EGR valve gasket.
