Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Drain the engine cooling system.
3. Disconnect the block heater power cable and position aside.

4. CAUTION: Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal.

Loosen the block heater retaining screw and remove the block heater.
^ To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).

5. CAUTION: Make sure the power cable is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components or damage to the cable may occur.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Lubricate the block heater seal and the cylinder block hole with clean engine coolant to ease installation.
6. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
