CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR







Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

3. NOTE: The camshaft position (CMP) sensor is located behind the power steering pump.

Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector.

4. Remove the bolt, the CMP sensor and discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 13 Nm (10 lb-ft).

5. NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to the new O-ring seal prior to installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new O-ring seal.
