Transaxle Description





The 6F50 automatic transaxle is a 6-speed transaxle with electronic shift control. It is designed for operation in a transverse powertrain for front wheel drive (FWD) and all wheel drive (AWD) vehicles and has these major components:
^ Case with torque converter housing
^ Two drive clutches:
- direct clutch
- overdrive clutch
^ Four brake clutches:
- forward clutch
- one-way roller clutch
- low/reverse clutch
- intermediate clutch
^ Three planetary gearsets:
- front
- center
- rear
^ Final drive gearset
^ Differential
^ Pump assembly
^ Main control
