Transfer Shaft and Gear

Special Tool(s):

Disassembly
1. Inspect the transfer shaft bearings for damage or excessive wear. Install new if necessary.





2. Using the special tool and a suitable press, remove the transfer shaft bearings from the transfer shaft.





3. Inspect the transfer shaft assembly for damage.
1 Inspect the park pawl wheel for damage and replace if necessary.
2 Inspect the transfer shaft and transfer shaft input gear for damage and replace if necessary.





Assembly
1. Install the park pawl wheel on the transfer shaft.





2. Using the special tools and a press, install new transfer shaft bearings on the transfer shaft assembly.
