Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Do not disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe from the air cleaner cover. This is to protect the integrity of the hydrocarbon trap.

1. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
2. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube and vacuum tube from the air cleaner outlet pipe.
3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe from the throttle body.
- To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

4. NOTE: No tools are needed to remove the air cleaner assembly. Removal should be carried out using hands only.

Remove the bolt and release the 2 air cleaner feet from the rubber grommets.
- Remove the air cleaner and outlet pipe assembly.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

5. NOTE:
- Make sure that the 2 air cleaner feet are seated into the rubber grommets under the air cleaner assembly.
- The air cleaner outlet pipe should be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
