Test N: LFC 15/DTC C1414 - Incorrect Module Design Level

PINPOINT TEST N: LFC 15/DTC C1414 - INCORRECT MODULE DESIGN LEVEL

N1:

N2-N4:

NOTE: When a new PCM is installed, the air bag warning indicator will illuminate when the ignition switch is ON. The warning indicator will remain on until PCM configuration is restored.

Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the communication from the powertrain control module (PCM) for an embedded vehicle ID. If the RCM detects an unexpected condition or incorrect data from the PCM, it will store diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1414 in memory and illuminate the air bag warning indicator.

Possible Causes
An incorrect module design level can be caused by:
- incorrect or non configured PCM for vehicle.
- incorrect RCM for vehicle.
