Normal Operation
Smart lock automatically unlocks the driver door if the key is in the ignition and the driver door is open when the vehicle is locked using the driver door lock control switch. The vehicle may still be locked with the key in the ignition using the manual lock button, a remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter, the keyless entry keypad or a key in the driver door lock cylinder.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 57 (BK) open
- Circuit 344 (BK/YE) open
- Driver door ajar switch
- Universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART)-based protocol (UBP) communications network
- Vehicle security module (VSM)
