Cylinder Head Assembly

New cylinder head bolts must be installed. They are torque-to-yield designed and cannot be reused.

Install the 8 bolts and tighten in 6 stages in the sequence shown.
Stage 1: Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft)
Stage 2: Tighten 90 degrees
Stage 3: Loosen one full turn.
Stage 4: Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft)
Stage 5: Tighten 90 degrees
Stage 6: Tighten 90 degrees








The cylinder head must not have depressions deeper than 0.0254 mm (0.0001 in) across a 38.1 mm (1.5 in) square area, or scratches more than 0.0254 mm (0.0001 in)

Upper and lower intake manifold bolts 10 Nm (89 lb-in)





Camshaft bearing caps
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown 10 Nm (89 lb-in)








Exhaust manifold nuts 20 Nm (15 lb-ft)
