Heater Hose: Service and Repair

AUXILIARY HEATER OUTLET AND INLET LINE

Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Drain the cooling system.







3. NOTE: A portion of the coolant remaining in the auxiliary heater outlet and inlet lines, and the heater core, will drain from the auxiliary heater outlet and inlet line connections when disconnected.

Disconnect the heater hoses at the front of the auxiliary heater inlet and outlet lines.







4. Remove the bolt and the front auxiliary heater line bracket.







5. Remove the bolts and the 2 rear auxiliary heater line brackets.







6. NOTE: A portion of the coolant remaining in the auxiliary heater outlet and inlet lines, and the heater core, will drain from the auxiliary heater outlet and inlet line connections when disconnected.

Disconnect the heater hoses at the floorpan bracket.







7. Support the rear axle with a jack stand.







8. Remove the track bar bolt.
- To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

9. Disconnect the LH rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector.







10. Remove the bolts and the 2 remaining line brackets.
11. Tilt the auxiliary heater outlet and inlet lines to drain any remaining coolant and remove the auxiliary heater outlet and inlet lines.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only, if needed.

13. Fill the engine cooling system.
