Steering Column Multifunction Switch:

Removal and Installation
1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in the General Procedures portion of Air Bag Systems.
2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
^ Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch lock cylinder and turn to the RUN position.
^ Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.
3. Remove the steering column tilt lever.
4. Remove the 3 steering column cover screws.
5. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
6. Remove the 2 multi-function switch screws.
^ To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs).
7. Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connectors.
8. Remove the multi-function switch.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in the General Procedures portion of Air Bag Systems.
