Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation

NOTE: Crimp style clamps retain the hoses to the secondary air injection (AIR) pump, therefore the pump and hoses are removed as an assembly.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. If equipped, remove the 7 screws and the underbody cover.







3. Disconnect the AIR pump electrical connector.
4. Release the wire harness retainer clips from the AIR pump hose.
5. Disconnect the AIR pump hose from the air cleaner outlet pipe.
6. Disconnect the AIR pump hose from the AIR valve.
7. Remove the 3 bolts and the AIR pump and hoses as an assembly.
- To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
