Engine

Removal (Steps 93-108)

FWD vehicles
93. Remove the 2 bolts and the heat shield.





94. Remove the 2 bolts and the catalytic converter bracket.





95. Remove the 2 bolts and the catalytic converter bracket assembly.





All vehicles

96. NOTE: When installing the lower half of the lifting bracket it will be easier to loosely install the upper bolt first then install the lower bolt.

Install the lower half of the special tool.





97. Install the upper half of the special tool.





98. Using the special tools and a suitable engine crane, remove the engine and transaxle from the lift table.





99. Remove the bolt and ground wire.





100. Remove the bolt and the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector bracket.





101. Disconnect the transmission control module (TCM) electrical connector.





102. Remove the 2 nuts and the starter motor wiring.





103. Remove the 2 bolts and the starter motor.





104. Remove the engine-to-transaxle bolt.





105. Remove the 3 transaxle-to-engine bolts.





106. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the stud bolt.





107. Remove the transaxle-to-engine stud bolt, bolt and nut.





108. Using the special tools and a suitable engine crane, separate the engine and transaxle.
