Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor













Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. NOTICE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle can be damaged.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

3. NOTE: The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is located on the driver side of the engine.

Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector.

4. Remove the bolt, the CMP sensor and discard the O-ring seals.
- To install, tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).

5. NOTE: Make sure the blue O-ring seal is installed first and seated near the flange. The red O-ring seal is installed second and is seated near the metal tip.

NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to the new O-ring seals prior to installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Install new O-ring seals.
