Pinpoint Test AH: The Turn Signal On Warning Chime Is Inoperative
Normal Operation
The turn signal on warning chime sounds when the vehicle travels more than 3.2 km (2.0 miles) with the turn signal on. The Smart Junction Box (SJB) communicates the turn signal switch status to the Instrument Cluster (IC) over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN). The IC receives the odometer rolling count data from the PCM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Odometer operation
- IC
PINPOINT TEST AH: THE TURN SIGNAL ON WARNING CHIME IS INOPERATIVE

AH1 CARRY OUT THE CHIME FUNCTION ACTIVE COMMAND
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: IC DataLogger.
- Select the IC chime command (CHIME_TS_ON).
- Does the chime operate?
Yes
GO to AH2.
No
INSTALL a new IC. REFER to Instrument Cluster (IC) Instrument Cluster (IC). TEST the system for normal operation.

AH2 CHECK THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Verify the turn signal indicators operation.
- Do the turn signal indicators operate correctly?
Yes
GO to AH3.
No
Go To Pinpoint Test S. Pinpoint Test S: The LH/RH Turn Or High Beam Indicator Is Never/Always On

AH3 CHECK THE ODOMETER FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Verify that the vehicle odometer operates.
- Does the odometer operate correctly?
Yes
INSTALL a new SJB. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
