Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor - 4.0LRemoval and Installation 1.
Drain the cooling system.
2.
Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
3.
Remove the clip and the ECT sensor. Discard the O-ring seal.
4.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Install a new O-ring seal.
