Coolant Pump - 4.6L (3V)













Removal and Installation

1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

2. Remove the cooling fan. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Service and Repair.

3. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.

4. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

6. Remove and discard the coolant pump O-ring.

7. NOTICE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of the old O-ring.

If necessary, clean the mating surfaces with a plastic scraper and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new coolant pump O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine coolant.
