Oil Separator: Service and Repair




Crankcase Vent Oil Separator - 3.5L GTDI

NOTE: Early build engine with PCV heater element and electric heated PCV valve shown, late build engine without PCV heater element and standard PCV valve similar.











Removal and Installation

1. If equipped, disconnect the PCV valve electrical connector.

2. Release the wire harness pin-type retainer from the crankcase vent oil separator.

3. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube-to-PCV valve quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

4. Remove the 3 crankcase vent oil separator bolts.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

5. Remove the crankcase vent oil separator from the RH valve cover.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
