Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

2. Remove the intermediate shaft. For additional information, refer to Front Drive Halfshafts Intermediate Shaft.

3. Using the Bearing Cup Remover, the Extension from the Halfshaft Remover and a suitable slide hammer, remove and discard the deflector.





4. Remove the seal using the Slide Hammer and a dent puller inserted into the groove seal.





Installation

1. Using the Halfshaft Oil Seal Installer, Rear Axle Oil Seal Installer and Handle, install the cover seal.
- The seal is correctly installed if it is flush with the PTU case cover.





2. Using the Handle and PTO Driven Gear Oil Seal Installer, install the deflector.





3. Install the intermediate shaft. For additional information, refer to Front Drive Halfshafts Intermediate Shaft.
