Preliminary Inspections

NOTE: For concerns with the AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system, REFER to Symptom Chart: Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Systems Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Systems.

1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Inspect for obvious signs of mechanical damage.
- PTU (Power Transfer Unit)
- Halfshafts and CV (Constant Velocity) joints
- Driveshaft and U-Joint (Universal-Joint)
- Wheel/tire size and brand
- Tire pressure

3. Matching tire size and brand.
4. If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and GO to Symptom Chart. Transfer Case - Power Transfer Unit (PTU)
