Removal

1. NOTICE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle may be damaged.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration Programmable Module Installation (PMI).

3. Disconnect the RH battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables Battery Disconnect / Connect.

4. Detach the wiring harness retainer.

5. Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors.

6. Remove the 2 nuts and the PCM bracket.
- Remove the PCM.

Installation

All vehicles

1. Position the PCM and bracket.
- Install the 2 nuts and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

2. Connect the PCM electrical connectors.

3. Attach the wiring harness retainer.

4. Connect the RH battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables Battery Disconnect / Connect.

5. Restore the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration restore steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration Programmable Module Installation (PMI).

6. NOTE: If the Body Control Module (BCM) or the PCM (or both) is being replaced, the parameters must be reset in both modules or the vehicle will experience a Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) no start. This will occur even if the vehicle is not equipped with PATS.
