Generator - 5.0L









Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables Service and Repair.

2. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe and ACL assembly. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering Diagrams.

3. Remove the ACL inlet pipe from the radiator support. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering Diagrams.

4. Remove the Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) belt tensioner. For additional information, refer to Accessory Drive Service and Repair.

5. Position the generator B+ protective boot aside, remove the B+ nut and position the B+ terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).

6. Disconnect the generator electrical connector.

7. Remove the upper generator stud nut.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

8. Remove the upper generator stud.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

9. Remove the lower generator bolt and the generator.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
