Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair




Skip Shift Solenoid









Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

2. Support the transmission with a suitable transmission jack.

3. Remove the 4 transmission crossmember bolts and lower the transmission to gain access to the skip shift solenoid.





4. Disconnect the skip shift solenoid electrical connector.





5. Remove the 2 skip shift solenoid bolts and the skip shift solenoid.





6. Using a magnetic tool, remove the skip shift solenoid pin and spring from the transmission.

1. Remove the skip shift solenoid pin.

2. Remove the skip shift solenoid pin spring.





Installation

1. Install the skip shift solenoid spring and pin into the transmission.

1. Install the skip shift solenoid pin spring.

2. Install the skip shift solenoid pin.





2. Seat the skip shift solenoid into the transmission and hold, while securing the 2 skip shift solenoid bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).





3. Connect the skip shift solenoid electrical connector.





4. Raise the transmission and install the 4 transmission crossmember bolts.
- Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
