Removal and Replacement




Flywheel





Removal

1. Remove the clutch disc and pressure plate. For additional information, refer to Clutch Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate.

2. Using the Flywheel Locking Tool, remove the 6 bolts and the flywheel.





Installation

NOTE: Engine balancing is not required. Balance weights should not be installed on the new flywheel.

NOTE: Special bolts are used for installation. Do not use standard bolts.

1. Inspect the pilot bearing. Install a new pilot bearing as necessary.

2. Position the flywheel.

3. Using the Flywheel Locking Tool, install the 6 bolts in the sequence shown, in 3 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

- Stage 2: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

- Stage 3: Tighten to 112 Nm (83 lb-ft).





4. Install the clutch disc and the pressure plate. For additional information, refer to Clutch Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate.
