Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.

2. NOTICE: It is important to twist the spark plug wire boots while pulling upward, to avoid possible damage to the spark plug wire.

NOTICE: Spark plug wires must be connected to the correct ignition coil terminal. For additional information, refer to the Coil Terminal-to-Cylinder Relationship illustration in the Description and Operation, Engine Ignition information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in poor engine performance. Engine Ignition

Squeeze the locking tabs and twist while pulling upward, to disconnect the 6 spark plug wires from the ignition coil.

3. Remove the 4 bolts and the ignition coil.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

4. NOTE: Apply silicone dielectric compound to the inside of the spark plug wire coil boots.

NOTE: Be sure to reinstall the radio ignition interference capacitor under the correct ignition coil mounting bolt.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
