Removal and Installation

NOTICE: Do not pry in the brake caliper sight hole to retract the pistons, as this can damage the pistons and boots.

NOTICE: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the brake hose can occur.

NOTE: Make sure the brake caliper hose is not twisted during caliper installation.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the wheel and tire.

3. Remove and discard the brake pads. For additional information, refer to Brake Pads Rear Disc Brake.

4. Remove the brake caliper anchor plate bolts and remove the brake caliper anchor plate.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).


5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
