Diagnostic Routine C

Diagnostic Overview

The Alarm System Does Not Arm or No Turn Signal Flash Confirmation

Normal Operations and Fault Conditions

REFER to Anti-Theft - Perimeter (vehicles without IA (Intelligent Access)) or REFER to Anti-Theft - Perimeter (vehicles with IA (Intelligent Access)).

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Hood switch

- RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter

- Keyless entry keypad

Pinpoint Test

1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) IN THE BCM (Body Control Module)

1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1305:01 present?








2. CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Close all the doors and liftgate.

3. Observe the courtesy lamps while waiting about 30 seconds.

Do the courtesy lamps turn off?








3. VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION

1. Place the hazard switch in the ON position.

Do the hazard lamps operate correctly?








4. CHECK THE RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) TRANSMITTER FUNCTION

1. Using the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter, lock and unlock the doors.

Does the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter lock and unlock the doors?








5. CHECK THE KEYLESS ENTRY KEYPAD FUNCTION

1. Lock the doors using the keyless entry keypad.

Do all the doors lock using the keyless entry keypad?








6. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.

3. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

4. Reconnect all BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
