Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Function .

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions






Pinpoint Test

1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

1. Ignition ON.

2. Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?








2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, perform the network test.

Does the BCM (Body Control Module) pass the network test?








3. RECHECK THE TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) MODULE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

1. Using a scan tool, clear the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) module DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

2. Ignition OFF.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Wait at least 10 seconds.

5. Repeat the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) module self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:87 present?








4. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES.

1. Clear continuous DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.

2. Ignition OFF.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Wait 10 seconds.

5. Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 set in the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module or the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module)?
