Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair




Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve - 3.5L Ti-VCT

Removal

WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an EVAP (Evaporative Emission) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. REFER to Battery Disconnect .

2. Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to Quick Connect Coupling .

3. Disconnect the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister purge valve electrical connector.

4. Remove the bolts and the canister purge valve.

Installation

1. Install the canister purge valve and the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

2. Connect the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister purge valve electrical connector.

3. Connect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to Quick Connect Coupling .

4. Connect the battery ground cable. REFER to Battery Disconnect .
