Front Fender: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation

1. For the LH fender, disconnect the hood release cable hold-down pin-type retainer from the LH fender.

2. For the RH fender, remove the battery tray from the RH fender.

3. Remove the headlamp assembly.

4. Remove the front bumper.

5. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Fender Splash Shield .

6. If equipped, remove the running boards.

7. Remove the lower front fender bolt cover pin-type retainer and remove the cover.

8. Remove the lower front fender bolt.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

9. Remove the lower rear fender bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


10. Carefully cut the expandable foam holding the baffle on the inside seam as well as the expandable foam covering the front fender inner rear bolt.





11. Remove the front fender inner rear bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


12. Disconnect the upper corner cowl panel clip from the front fender.

13. Open the door, remove the upper rear fender bolt.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).


14. Remove the top 3 front fender bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


15. Remove the front fender.

16. Reverse the removal procedure.
- Transfer parts as necessary.

- Reseal the area around the baffle using Flexible Foam Repair or equivalent.
