Removal

1. NOTICE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle may be damaged.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. Drain the engine primary cooling system. For additional information refer to Cooling System.

3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) electrical connector.

4. Remove the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor.

Installation

1. Install the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor.
- Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).

2. Connect the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor electrical connector.

3. NOTICE: Evaluate the cooling system condition before filling the engine cooling system. Failure to follow these instructions can result in damage to the engine.
