Pinpoint Test G: DTCs B1359 and B1363

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Pinpoint Test G: DTCs B1359 and B1363

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 118, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation

The Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) /Vehicle Security Module (VSM) receives voltage from the Central Junction Box (CJB).

- DTC B1359 (Ignition Run/Acc Circuit Failure)- sets if the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) detects that the RUN/ACC input is open or shorted to ground. This DTC also sets set if the self-test is performed with the ignition in the OFF or ACC positions.

- DTC B1363 (Ignition Start Circuit Failure)- sets if the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) detects that the RUN/START input is open or shorted to ground. This DTC also sets set if the self-test is performed with the ignition in the OFF or ACC positions.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Fuse(s)

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module)

- Ignition switch

PINPOINT TEST G : DTCs B1359 and B1363

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

G1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module)

- Ignition In ACC.

- Disconnect: TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module) C4321A.

- Ignition ON.

- Measure the voltage between the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module) C4321A-20, circuit CBP26 (BU/WH), harness side and ground.

- Measure the voltage between the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module) C4321A-23, circuit CBP23 (BN/YE), harness side and ground.

Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to G2
No
VERIFY the CJB (Central Junction Box) fuses 26 (7.5A) and 23 (10A) are OK. If OK, REPAIR open in circuit CBP26 (BU/WH) or circuit CBP23 (BN/YE). If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the short circuit Electrical Diagrams.

G2 CHECK FOR CORRECT TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) OPERATION

- Disconnect all the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module) electrical connectors.

- Check the connectors for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- spread terminals.

- Connect all the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module) connectors and make sure that they are seated correctly.

Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) /VSM (Vehicle Security Module). REFER to Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Module - 4-Door Sedan Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Module - 4-Door Sedan or Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Module - 5-Door Hatchback Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Module - 5-Door Hatchback.
TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
