WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

NOTE: The removal steps in this procedure may include installation details.

1. Remove the D-pillar trim panels. REFER to D-Pillar Trim Panel - 5-Door Hatchback .

2. Position aside the upper portion of the liftgate opening weatherstrip.

3. Position aside the headliner.





4. Disconnect and position aside the rear washer hose.





5. Disconnect and position aside the liftgate wiring harness.





6. Remove the wiring and harness boots at the body and route the lines out of the body.





7. Manually support the liftgate.

8. Disconnect and position aside the liftgate supports at the liftgate.

9. With the help of an assistant, remove the liftgate-to-hinge bolts and remove the liftgate.
- 11 Nm (97 lb-in)

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. If required, adjust the liftgate. REFER to Liftgate Alignment .
