Diagnostic Overview

The Turn Signal Function Is Inoperative

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Turn Signals .

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the turn lamp bulbs and make sure they are OK.

- Inspect the multifunction switch for damage.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE HIGH BEAMS

1. Ignition ON.

2. Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.

3. Use the multifunction switch to activate the high beams.

Do the high beams operate correctly?







2. CHECK FOR CORRECT SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) OPERATION

1. Disconnect and inspect all SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) connectors.

2. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
