Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid

Removal

WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an EVAP (Evaporative Emission) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

1. Remove the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister. REFER to Evaporative Emission Canister .

2. Depress the locking tab outward, rotate the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid clockwise and remove it from the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister.





Installation

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an EVAP (Evaporative Emission) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

1. NOTE: Do not apply oil to the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid O-ring seal. Clean water may be applied to aid reassembly.
Install the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid in the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister.

- Rotate the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid counter clockwise to fully engage the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister locking tab.

2. Install the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister. REFER to Evaporative Emission Canister .
