Transmission Draining and Filling

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

General Procedure

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Lifting Points .

2. Remove the 8 retainers and the underbody insulator.





3. Remove the drain plug and drain the transaxle.





4. Clean and install the drain plug.
- Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).





5. NOTE: Before removing, clean the area around the fill plug.

Remove the fill plug.





6. Using an oil suction gun, fill the transmission to the correct level with the specified transmission fluid. Transmission fluid level: 0 mm (0 in)-5 mm (0.1969 in) below the lower edge of the fill plug bore.





7. Install the fill plug.
- Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).





8. Install the underbody insulator and the 8 retainers.
