Reason for change

Reason for block

Complaint:
The vehicle is going into limp-home mode and the Check Engine Light (CEL) is being illuminated.

Cause:
The CDI control unit has detected a fault which results in limp-home mode. The limp-home mode causes certain engine functions to be deactivated or to use default values. The control unit can no longer correctly determine the load state of the diesel particulate filter. The state of the diesel particulate filter may become implausible.

Remedy:
After rectifying the cause of the fault, perform workshop regeneration of the diesel particulate filter. This resets the diesel particulate filter to a defined state.
